Beautiful view of the lake from our room. Quiet, restful location. Very helpful staff, good breakfasts and shuttle bus to train. Comfortable room with lots of space.

This hotel is older and due for renovations. The pool was empty, which was a shame as it was very hot, but I swam in the lake. Carpets need steam cleaning or replacing as quite stained.

Fantastic location that hopefully won’t become too expensive in future visits

The location is perfect, and the staff were welcoming (I’ve stayed here many times, and the staff have not always been so friendly, so this is a big improvement). We liked the feeling of being at a beach cabin and the great views from our room.

The place is quite dated, and new pillows for the beds as well as the option to get more than one key would be appreciated.

Pleasant enough stay for 1 night but could make outside area much nicer

Location was pleasant on the waterfront . Beds were comfortable and staff did try to help ( with google translate ). Coin laundry available on site

For $160 the room was quite small ( does seem typical though in Japan ) . Even though by the lake there was 4 chairs to sit on and the pool was completely neglected and green .

Always memorable,especially the view of and prozimity to the lake.

The

room was on the first floor near the end of the long long hall. We would have preferred a room on the second floor not so far from the entrance. There were only 2 of us, but we were assigned a room for 3 or 4 people. Why?

Nice lake view scenery. Helpful staffs. Train staion 15mins walk to the hotel, Makino station. Family mart at the corner with 10mins walk. Nice moutain sceneries.

Beautiful location, nice room, shabby facilities otherwise though.

The location is stellar. The room was comfortable and spacious with a great view. We enjoyed the bicycles (extra fee).

The hallways were in poor condition, scuffed and with carpet stains. The staff was not particularly accommodating. The restaurant required reservations before arriving, but that was not mentioned in our reservation. But these downsides can be overlooked when you consider the beautiful location and views from the comfortable room.

Wonderful

This was my second time staying here and it did not disappoint. The view is stunning and access to the private beach is a real highlight. The room can comfortably accommodate 4 people. Makino is a great area to stay.

Good

The location is nice - off the beaten track and accessible only to those who really look for it. There is a bus from the location but we were driving. Just before the Japanese summer busy season and a weekday saw us as one of only a few patrons. We had the dinner and breakfast - great for us as we love all types of Japanese food but if you aren’t so adventurous this would be best to miss. Limited food options nearby.

It’s a bit tired. Needs updates - the pool wasn’t working - no hot spring or big bath which is often expected in this kind of hotel.

Very clean and well equiped room. Great views of the lake You can ride to Makino pic land with their rental bike. And there's a delicious indian food open for dinner nearby.

Bed was a bit hard. Can feel the spting underneath. Buffet breakfast was too expensive for the limited selection of food. Restaurant not open for dinner.

peaceful location, great view of lake , a bit isolated though

the location was great, right on the lake, with view from my window i like its only 2 floors so not a tall building windows large, great view

i found it odd, that i could not buy food at the restaurant, not even a coffee breakfast nor dinner was included in my price but when i asked to buy something , i could not in the morning , there was no coffee. the cafe opened at 11 am they would not serve me a coffee, so i had to leave the hotel, and nice view to go to family mart to buy a coffee ? ridiculous just let me pay for dinner or breakfast or open the cafe earlier. the staff did not speak english and were a bit rude
